pgce courses
2 Answers
hi
I'm just about to finish my degree in Graphic Comnication, I'm looking into doing a PGCE (secondary education, pref. Art & design or post compulsory education) course next but need to find a complete list of where they are offered in South Wales (Unis and colleges) I've been through the GTTR website but its only showing university courses, and i know for a fact that there are some colleges which offer this couse as a part time option but don't know which ones.
Also do you know if there are any general PGCE courses available which aren't aimed at a specific subject?
TIA, k8

You would be lucky to find a 'college' to offer postgraduate courses as this is usually the realm of universities. And the institution would have to pass rigourous QAA tests to prove they are able to deliver the course to required standards.
And with 4 years university admissions experience i would be highly dubious of 'colleges' offering postgraduate programmes. Check the validation of the institution and it's courses before making a decision.
As part of your 'teacher training' try doing a little more research than Google perhaps.
