MM Solutions June [Week 2]
19 Answers
This second week of the reign of the Monarch of the Glen went much better score-wise and I can now reveal the chosen Link Words of gen2 were:
Grouse MOOR
Whisky CHASER
CUCKOO Pint
Heavy DUTY
In summary, all links were spotted by 09.07am and a new frontrunner has emerged. However those in great haste gained little, since the points mainly fell to Entrants #6 to #13. First to strike was evsajo (she of the wiggly sleeper) with CUCKOO PINT (devious!) to be closely followed by jan1956 within two-minutes to score with the same word!
Between these two came the GROUSE MOOR of paulineward who always seems to be among the points when inspired by subjects of an alcoholic nature! She was followed with the same prediction and within the permitted period by ulysses100 & bangor to score bonus points. In the midst of all this came freebi2 looking for a WHISKY CHASER (and this being only 7 minutes past 9 in the morning!). Disgusting, I say. Should join AA and go TT (ie join the Automobile Association and visit the Isle of Man)!
BUT bang on 09.07 came the Star of the Week when bangor made a DOUBLE hit with DOUBLE Bonus Points! CHEERS all round!!
A laudable attempt was made at 09.08 by lysander who arrived with TWO hits but only ONE extra Bonus Point!

FOUR POINTS: bangor
THREE POINTS: JMR27 & lysander
Nine others have amassed a total of two points and are well placed to strike next week
However, a word of warning to gen2, the Shrubbery Squad know little about a lot of things but they know a LOT about drink! What will happen next week has everybody guessing, so come prepared to do bloody battle and equipped for mortal combat. [Marmite sarnies at ten paces]
Until then this is crofter signing off for another week.
LONG LIVE THE SPIRIT OF THE AB-LINKERS
(Whatever the shape of the bottle it comes in!)
:o)
Well done everyone - some of you at least are picking up the vibes. 19 people scored points this week (only 11 last week) and 29 points were gained (only 15 last week). Your improvement shows you are learning (learning what though, I'm not quite sure).
So until the same time, same place next weekend, Cheers.

I couldn't leave you without sharing a little culture with you. Last week it was Keats. This week it is Paul Simon's song based on the rhyme about the cuckoo:
April come she will
When streams are ripe and swelled with rain
May she will stay
Resting in my arms again
June she'll change her tune
In restless walks she'll prowl the night
July she will fly
And give no warning to her flight
August die she must
The autumn winds blow chilly and cold
September I remember
A love once new has now grown old
April come she will
When streams are ripe and swelled with rain
May she will stay
Resting in my arms again
June she'll change her tune
In restless walks she'll prowl the night
July she will fly
And give no warning to her flight
August die she must
The autumn winds blow chilly and cold
September I remember
A love once new has now grown old
I may not have got any points - yet again - but I think I've got you sussed now Gen2 ! Wait for next week everyone........or perhaps the week after....or even the week after that!
Thanks Crofter for standing by to deal with my score. Although I didn't trouble you this week, make sure you've got your pencil sharpened next Sunday.
