where do we come from

can someone please tell me where we come from, i dont buy the whole adam and eve thing, i do however believe in god i think, how can 2 people make the world by producing children plus wouldnt that be incest somewhere along the line

yeah, i believe in evolution too. although my biology teacher pointed out this: if monkeys evolved into humans, why are there still monkeys?

my vote goes for evolution.
not all kinds of monkeys became humans, only only kind of them. like not all fishes stepped from the water and decided they need legs to walk instead of fins to swim ;)

Monkeys didn't evolve into humans. Millions of years ago monkeys split away from the line which eventually produced the great apes - chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas, orang-utans and humans, none of which descended from any of the others. Read Richard Dawkins' "The Ancestor's Tale" which explains and illustrates all.
In any case, just because one mutated strain of a species wanders off to form a new species is no reason for the parent species to disappear.

I have thought about this for years and I've come to the conclusion that -- higher beings ( say it was God ) many years ago used our planet as we used Australia and sent all the convicts here but they did'nt call them man and woman they called them Adam and Eve. There are a lot of things in the bible that you can interperet as alien, like the angels in silver suits decending from the chariot of fire down a golden ladder.

The account in the bible about Adam and Eve is true, sadly to-day people are not very bible oriented and it seems like a fairy tale. However, if Adam had not existed and sinned against God there would have been no need for Jesus to come to earth and die the way he did. It is true that in order for humans to produce children at that time God permitted brother and sister to have relations, that was in order that his purpose regarding the earth be fulfilled. Now, of course, that is not acceptable. Nowadays people are very much into tracing their family trees and finding out that they are related to the most fascinating people. If we were able to trace our family tree back to the start we would logically arrive at one set of parents Adam and Eve.
