I'm wondering if anybody can help please, did you either see this accident or suggest anything I can do to help find the identity of the lady who hit my son's car last Friday 3rd August. Chris was driving his white Chevrolet Kalos on the M 25 at junction 9/10 westbound ( going home to Oxfordshire) the traffic was stop start. He was stationary when a lady in a blue/grey Vauhall Frontera hit him from behind, he then hit the person in front. This happend in the outside lane, the driver in front signalled for them to get into the hard shoulder out of harms way. Chris did this but unfortunatly the lady who caused the accident drove away!! There was no way they could see the registration number of her car so Chris is now liable for this accident. Thankfully he is not badly hurt apart from whiplash, this woman obviously didn't care otherwise. Please if anybody can help we would be very grateful as this seems very unfair to me. People talk about young drivers ( Chris is 19 & a very responsible driver who loves his car) but this woman was in her 50's & acted very irresponsibly! Many Thanks Christine

Thanks for all the answers it has helped. I have discovered by contacting the MIB that Chris is not liable for the damage to the car he was shunted into. Although for some strange reason his insurance company took quite a while to confirm this, they didn't seem to want to tell us this. Now we have this info we may not make a claim at all if the cost of repairing his car is not too outlandish. His excess is 650 as he is so young so to protect his insurance costs in the future this may be the best way.
Thanks again folks
