My 12 year old son has been charged with racial abuse for calling an asian boy a "Mars Bar" during a football match, which he denies, but is this racist?

Do you think that 'Mars Bar' was just a random choice of words, jack? Or was it chosen because it's synonymous with chocolate, and a direct reference to his skin colour?
My hunch is that it was the latter. And anyone who disagrees is a stupid little Wilkinson Sword Quattro.

You said it Quinlad...............Or was it .....?
Please refer to my first point..............it has been denied that anything was shouted.
And I have inferred your assertation that I am a 'Wilkinson Sword ..........' is based upon the fact that you view me as a white imperialist; complicit in Wilkinson Sword's oppression of other cultures and peoples via their arming of the military with guns and bayonets...........
Into addition to having Nazi undertones as implied by your use of the term 'quattro'..........the original company, which became Audi, having started in Zwickau where there was a sizeable concentration camp in WW2.
However, I'm sure that's not what you actually meant.........................see my final point.

The question is: Is calling someone a "Mars Bar" racisct
...and contains the phrase "which he denies, but is this racist?"
The 'but' suggests that we're looking at the whether it would have been racist had it been said. So the denial is irrelevant. Isn't it?
And as for your other point - you're sticking to the opinion that he chose the words 'Mars Bar' utterly randomly with no intent to refer to the other lad's skin tone? That's your take on it is it?
As defences go, it's up there with, "I'd didn't kill her, I just found her, had sex with her corpse then realised she was dead." Stick with it though!

The denial is probably irrelevant as people have this preconcieved conception that any remark made and subsequently reported as offensive whether it be in jest, meant or taken out of context is of racial intent. Sticks and stones and all that and a 12 year old being branded a racist. The point of the question was from my point of view to show that the alleged remark is nothing more than a throw a away comment that had no racial conatations and tell the Hants FA to shove it up thier fat arses, ooops, sorry probably get banned for that.
Thanks

I have asked if 'Mars Bar' is a perceived term of racial abuse in the same vein as 'bounty'. I would be interested to know if it, indeed, IS common currency as a racially abusive term in the area in which the offence was committed. You seem sure that it is, Quinlad.
Is it ?
The rest of your response is fatuous nonsense.

By all means come up with another viable explanation for why he chose the term 'Mars Bar' over any other. So far nobody has.
You could argue that he has some congitive defect that causes random words to spill out of his mouth? Yes, try that one.
As I've already said, there isn't a list of accepted racial slurs. There's no racial equivalent of the profanesaurus. We all know what he meant by - whether or not it's in common usage.
So long, snickers! ;-)
