hysterectomy's

i have been told i now need to have a hysterectomy after and operation last monday went wrong??? i am due to have the hysterectomy on 29 september but i have to decide on which way it is to be performed (abdomen or vaginal) my doctor has given me leaflets on both and now i am torn on what to do as they both have there advantages and dis-advantages. Members of my family have had it done via the abdomen but no-one i know has had it done vaginaly and i would like to know of anyones views on it (both)
