Is the railway station in Bristol, what does the 'meads' mean please?

The name of the station, Temple Meads, derives from the nearby Temple Church, which was built by the Knights Templar in the 12th century, rebuilt in the 14th century, and gutted by bombing during World War II.The word "m�ds" is an Old English derivation of meadow, referring to the water meadows alongside the River Avon that were part of Temple parish
