Have any of you Chatter's been to Turkey and can tell me what is the cost of drinks? Thinking of going. Also anyone been in October? Is it getting cold there now?
Hi Jenga
I went to Alanya in Turkey last August and it was quite inexpensive, but a woman at work has just returned from marmaris and she says it is dearer than she has found in previous years. We didn't drink alot outside of the hotel, but the price of spirits in the off licenses was really good, it was the pepsi that was dear.
Whereabouts are you going? Try to get to aspendos for the show it is brilliant
I went to Turkey in August (v hot!) but also went last October. we had three days of torrential rain, but that was very unusual for Turkey. we then had 4 days of sun, warm enough for bikinis but the pool was chilly.. not that the kids noticed! you'll need something with sleeves for the evenings. oh, there was a (minor) earthquake on our last day!
drinks are reasonable, maybe a bit less than you'd pay here but not much difference.
I've been to Turkey quite a few times, only been back a few weeks from my latest trip.
Beer is about 2.50 a pint if u drink the local tipple, Efes. Spirits and cocktails are 4-5.
It will be nice in the day, but u will feel the cold in the evening, so worth taking something to keep off the chill.
Hope this helps!
I'm looking at Icmeler because that has a flight close to the date I want to go. I did fancy Bodrum but Icmeler looks OK. I am dithering about going to a 4* hotel which is all inclusive for about 80 each more than going to a 3* H/B. It is for 11 nights.
here's a tip... don't eat at Dalaman airport coming back. the prices are outrageous. I got the kids "happy meals" from McDonalds.. worked out 9 each. EACH!!
Isnt octo9ber the end of their season?
Didnt like the efes beer that much.
Was in marmaris in hotel next to markert and the mosque.
