Without wishing to offend some of our more sensitive users of the AB by querying answers, with 26 days left before the competition closes, I would like to raise a query on Q99.
For those who do not know the quiz the question is:-
"Hold on to catch when suspended over the river." The answer appears to be between 2 choices - keepnet or tureens.
I have read the fors and against for each e.g. a keepnet is in the river and not suspended and tureens are plural when the answer appears to be single.
Has anyone come up with anything different - a clue to a different answer would be acceptable to avoid offending?
surely a keepnet is suspended over the river, the bottom bit being in the river. If the whole thing was in the river it would be called "a let em go net"
Thank you very much Mazie. The photo of the keepnet in action is great and explains the suspension bit very well. Definitely looks the best answer to go for.
