Arabic translation

Does anybody know how to write the name Victoria in arabic? I lived in Saudi Arabia for a few years when I was younger but never learnt the language, but have come up with the idea of getting my name tattooed in arabic, but I can't seem to find what it is. Please help!!

Yeah I think the answer is go to a Urdu or Arab tattooist. The other thing is that V is not an arab but an English name. Oh and there is no arabic letter for V - the alternative is to use the Farsi (=Persian) letter which I think is a 'fe' with three dots on top instead of two.

AND since she (V) was a Queen of a lot of that part, historically there will be an agreed transliteration.

The final 'a' will almost certainly be a tay-marbuta because that's a feminine ending.

I cannot read arabic but the name I found which may be Victoria (not sure!) when spelled out left to right (I know that's backwards) is made up of the following characters gleaned from Character Map

well I put in Queen Victoria and it came out as

malika fktura

which looks OK - i would still employ a professional

the letters are fe - kaf - tay - waw - ra - tay marbuta

but remember the letters have compulsory initial,medial and final forms. That is, it is always joined up and the joins and breaks are absolutely dictated.

Ok The Egyptian I asked, very prettily in Arabic of course, said it was:

Feektooria -

ve- ya - kaf - te - waw -re -  ya- aleph

The fe has three dots on it instead of one to make it a Farsi ve, and it's an aleph and not a te marbuta at the end.

nope that's not it.....the initial (remember it is read right to left) has come out as @ 3 6 5 and it should be a ve
