Have always thought the same about St Andrews day. However, the SNP council in Angus have decreed it a public holiday so all the kids in Angus get a day off school. Hope it's explained to them why?
Now St Patrick's day - that's something else. The Irish sure know how to celebrate.

Many years ago, when at school, our yr was divided into the four 'saints'...
I was in St. Davids, and everything we had to wear in school was orange...everything was about the four houses competing, I hated the colour and have done ever since, so maybe a deep seated thing...
