Just been slaughtered in a game of scrabble. 340/230, almost at the end i noticed OH had spelled a word wrong, he had linx instead of lynx and it was on a treble! My fault for not realising but spitting feathers. We play a couple of times a week and every night when on holiday. How many of you play scrabble?

The rule change was for Scrabble Trickster - the media went mental around 6th April 2010 with the announcement by Mattel of the new game and many thinking the rule was applicable to all forms of Scrabble.

I still play Scrabble (online), and it has entertained me during many boring spells in hotels overseas.
We used to play a game called Lexicon when we were small. It looks so simple now, but we loved it. I still have a pack of the cards.
I have also heard of a game called 'Banana' which got a great review recently in the DT.
Apparently, it's fun for all ages, even little ones.
It seems to work on the same principle as Dominoes - the words are joined in the same way.
Someone on AB might know it.
(I wish iPad would stop editing my text to make it gobbledygook).

Lexulous is online. I have been playing for years. I particularly like the strict version which allows you to put anything on the board. Your opponent can then challenge and you lose /or they win a turn depending on whether the word is correct. There are other versions on there which will not allow an incorrect word. I find it particularly satisfying to bamboozle with unusual English words...LOL If anyone would like to challenge me my Lexulous name is Anngel
