red eye is an overnight flight, wasn't so sure about the rest, drinking may give you bloodshot eyes but not sure why it said 'cheap'

There is a red eye drink but I'm not aware that it's seen as a cheap drink.

Maybe there's also a term 'red eye' for cheap alcohol
