6 Down Drudgery rendered by Spooners cockeyed Scottish knife. Is is donkey work and if so why.

Also 26 across Is it old man at the sea?

6d) it's a spoonerised version of wonky dirk
yes as to 26 and bibble has the logic to wonky dirk, switch the first letters as in a spoonerism.....

26 across = Old man of the sea which provides the "F" in 10 down's SET OFF
Yes it is donkey work.(Maybe it is because donkeys were used to do the heavy, routine, boring, work that man did not want to do e.g. pull carts of coal etc.

26A Old man of the sea. The "f? fits in with 20D SET OFF.
