Daily Mail (Un-Numbered) And Daily Mail Cryptic (Serially Numbered Crosswords)
3 Answers
I was wondering if there was any way that these two different crosswords could be segregated from one another. When you look at the questions and answers they are all mixed up consequently when you are looking through the lists you are continuously having to double check questions and answers to ensure that they are related. It might help if everyone put in the cryptic crossword number or if this could be made a compulsory field for the cryptic.
Since the answers for past results are now added below the main answer this has added a further complication to finding the correct answers to the puzzle you are doing.
Don't know if anyone else is having the same problem?
Thanks

- posting the clue but not specifying the letter count
- posters paraphrasing clues or typing them incorrectly, maybe missing out a key word or letter
- crossword clues in the wrong section
- omitting name of crossword altogether-
minimal information "eg stuck on 3d, help please"
We already have a title builder and lots of guidance notes so I'm not sure much more can be done

Hi- I have just looked, williaj.
In the title builder there are 3 options- Prize Crossword, General Knowledge and Cryptic. I don't know whether the Prize is the same thing as the Cryptic. There is an optional 'quiz' number (which should be called something like crossword number) but I probably couldn't be bothered filling it in. Are you suggesting that this be made a compulsory field

Hi Factor Fiction, Thanks for your answers to the problem I posted. I have still been watching the situation and I think that the problem may be with the DM editions. In the Scottish DM it is called at the top, eg today's "DAILY MAIL CROSSWORD" No14443 at the bottom the answers are called "SOLUTIONS TO PRIZE CROSSWORD No 14,440" I dont know what the English version is called but I do not think this is numbered as questions about it never quote a number.
If this is the case then making the number field compulsory would segregate it from all other versions or have DM (Scotland) and DM (England) in the selection field.
Don't know what you and others think of this.
Best regards,
