What is the logic with ELECT? If correct, the other clue is R?T?
Rath
21a rote
If you elect you choose and if somebody is elected they're in
Question Author
Any logic for RATH or ROTE?
Whilst 'Rath' is a fortification, cannot see the relevance of 'holding' or 24/7'
rote=habitual routine hence24/7 or course of procedure
elect=to vote someone IN (s)elect to choose all but
Question Author
Thanks all...I'll go for ELECT & ROTE
How does 'Fort' come in with 'Rote'?
You're welcome.
Question Author
Rote means "everyday" as does 24/7
14 elect
should you have written 'Holding forth....?'
Question Author
FORT was right but may be misprint (no unusual for RTE Guide!)
Holding fort is right, its of those sayings thats been around from !!! since I
