Yes, the clue is actually 'Chap caught boxing one ON one!', and it is MAN ('chap') + C ('caught') surrounding (ie 'boxing') I ('one'), the definition being 'on one', meaning (according to the setter, anyway!) MANIC as in 'go off on one'. Please note: I'm only explaining it, not praising it!!
