I feel the royal family should not be defending Andrew, and instead putting the spotlight on him, else it gives the impression the royals condone the behaviour.
If this was anyone else they would face retribution and trial.

My friend and her husband lived on Grand Cayman for 20 years and PA visited there with the Royal Navy during Pirates' Week which is a HUGE event there. Lots of private parties, lots of alcohol and drugs. I am told that boys were PA's entertainment of choice rather than young girls. Who knows? AC/DC I'd guess.
Through the ages there have been men and women who were not fit to be "royals" but were simply placed in that position by virtue of their birth. At any time in the future such an unfit person could be our king or queen.
