The Griffin fm carplay sounds similar to the itrip (also made by Griffin). They are available for ipod and ipod mini. I have one and it basically broadcasts an fm signal from you ipod which is then picked up by your car radio (or your home stereo etc). Very easy to set up and the sound quality is basically as good as a strong fm stereo signal ie it's pretty good but not as good as a digital signal.

There are other FM tuner products as well. I use the AudiaX which is fine.
The advantage of the Griffin iTrip is that it does not use batteries (uses the iPod's) and plugs neatly in to the iPod.
The disadvantage is that you can only use it with your iPod (and not lastyear's model or next year's).
I would not recommend a cassette adaptor system. The sound quality is not as good, you have silly wires trailling about your car, who buys cars with cassettee players nowadays....
The other great thing about an FM tuner is that you can use it at home to play your iPod through your stereo.

If you type "Audiax" into Google you will find some reviews of the product, and possibhly some other sellers.
