Interesting. For starters the man is clearly from and ethnic background somewhere along the line so rather puts paid to the myth that UKIP wants all foreigners out.

Second, they are appealing the findings of the immigration authorities and as far as I can see have not been prosecuted so are you saying he must be guilty?

I may be wrong but this smells very fishy. I wonder what the leanings of the immigration officials in that area are?

I've followed some of your anti-UKIP messages with considerable interest, Mikey. Perhaps you could help me understand just exactly what threat you believe UKIP poses, as in all the excitement I believe I've forgotten.

The threat I see them posing is that, by UKIP taking votes from them (caused principally by neither of them listening to the concerns of large chunks of the electorate), neither of the main parties may secure an outright majority at the next General Election. Given the absolute shambles into which Coalition government has descended (a fate that was forecast and one which awaits any Coalition of any persuasions) I might well agree with you. But do your fears concur with mine or is there something else troubling you?

We don't know whether this man is guilty - we only know he's been arrested.

However on the wider topic of UKIP - not relating particularly to this case because of said uncertainty - I am getting pretty sick of people bending over backwards to make excuses for them. If we're to believe some ABers, then there's a massive anti-UKIP conspiracy with agents around every corner, because that seems so much more plausible than the party just being incompetently run.

Some of them are, some of them aren't. The electorate is not one homogenous group of people with equal mental abilities.

As for the threat - I do not consider UKIP a personal threat to me. I do, however, think that UKIP are extremely untrustworthy - even by the toxic levels set by the three main parties.
