For some reason, my memories of Manchester city centre are always hot and sunny, which is really odd and perverse considering how much it rains.
Left when I was 18, in 1975, didn't go back much until quite lately.
Pip's for the teenies, stale hotdogs in the ABC cinema while we watched 'Magnum Force' or some such tosh, Pizzaland where getting your exact order or an unchipped plate was little short of a miracle......
Can remember all the ships at Pomona Docks sounding their foghorns at midnight on New Years Eve.....
Chelsea Girl being closed for fumigation.....
Getting a purple crimplene mini-skirt suit on the underground market (the Market Centre) for a cousin's wedding....
Shudehill street market with bunnies in cages and old books....
Tib Streets pet shops seeming to become sex shops all of a sudden....
