Sunday Times Gold Fountain Pen !
16 Answers
I have just received a Cross Rolled Gold fountain pen, worth £205 for winning the Sunday Times crossword !
I just wanted to give my thanks to all that have helped me out, on a regular basis, on this site. Without you, I'm not sure I would win anything !
If I start naming names, I will probably miss somebody out !
Actually, this is my 3rd win in the Sunday Times in 5 years, so I, and you lot, must be doing something right !

You are all being very kind but its mostly due to you lot that I win anything at all.
Winning these prize crosswords is mostly luck I reckon. Its not that difficult to get them right ( with help ! ) but getting yours picked out of the sack is something we have very little control over. I have been using pastel-coloured
envelopes for a few years, to make my envelope stick out, so maybe that gives a slight advantage, although I am not 100% convinced about that.
Does anybody have any idea how many entries a puzzle like the Sunday Times get every week ? I reckon on a couple of thousand at least, and there is also the on-line entries to consider.
The prize that I would like to win is the Pure DAB radio, with the i paper....I must keep trying !

Tilly...fountain pens are wonderful things, and I have a collection of at least 50 of them (!) But they are next to ruddy useless in completing newspaper puzzles, as the paper is of such poor quality, that the ink spreads and makes a ghastly mess. So a good gel pen is the best I find.
But I use my fountain pens for writing the envelope out...can anybody remember that opening credits to "Keeping up Appearances", with Mrs Bucket ?...that's me all over !

Sandy, and everybody else. Can I recommend the best internet site I have ever used ?

This has the most wide-ranging stock of pens, ink, etc, I have ever seen, and the service is excellent. If you order in the morning, the items are with you the following day. I can't praise this company enough. And if you spend £10:00, the postage is free !
What's not to like !
