I don't know ellie - I cant really fit Lowchen to the clue other than it is a shaggy dog with 7 letters and an L at one end.

Thanks both of you. I had thought curtail for 83 by taking the end off curtsey (cur can mean dog) and added "tail" , which sounds like tale as in shaggy dog tale. As I said, I was hoping one of these answers might start and end in L, as I already have the full quota for beginning with L, but had 1 too many ending in L. There are 100 clues in all, so its like hunt the thimble to work out which one of my original answers might be wrong!
