How Do I Get A Rust Mark Off Cream Tiles Please?

I need some urgent suggestions please as to how I get a large rust mark (about 30cm sq) off cream marble tiles. I moved a statue thing the other day, mopped underneath it and put it back obviously still wet and I didn't realise it had a metal base to it and it's left an enormous great rust mark on cream marble tiles ( which have a bit of texture to them). I've tried boiling water, abrasive cleaner and bleach and it's not shifting whatsoever and I need it gone before himself sees it later and pitches an absolute fit. I dunno if the tiles are actually marble or marble effect ceramic. I have no idea why it's stained so badly :(
Any suggestions REALLY gratefully received.
Thanks x

White spirit if the tiles are ceramic and a scouring pad
Or an acid.. Lemon juice? Vinegar?
Google says lemon juice and salt
Just put the statue back over the stain and say nothing.:-)
kval this may be useful -I know you need lots of salt and I think lemon juice.

I have done some googling and if it is marble it seems you are stuffed....DO NOT try anything acid as it will dissolve the marble. The only answer seems to be to get the stain polished out by a specialist....and buy a big tin hat.

I've tried scouring it Spath, it's like the tile has somehow taken the colour and I don't know what to do :/
Well I just moved it to mop again Emmie and try to clean it when I saw what I'd done but I have to get rid of it, he's one of those people who shifts things around quite often and he'll see it eventually :(
Rust marks are generally best removed with something acidic...I have citric acid crystals which are useful for so many things.....BUT don't use anything acidic if the tiles are unglazed/ marble etc....cos they will also start to dissolve.
don't use lemon juice if its marble....ok on ceramic but it will dissolve the marble ands leave pits.
Rust stains appear to be very difficult to remove from marble. Suggestions here - though it’s not a quick process

Thanks AL and Woof, nothing I put on it seems to be shifting it. I'll try a tiny section as you suggest AL, if not I'll have to try to keep it covered til I can get a firm in while he's out :(
Try toothpaste and baking soda. Good luck.

Thanks Toorak, I'll have a go at that too but it takes 48 hours so I'll have to do it in little bits with the bloody thing back in place. I've tried baking soda but haven't tried toothpaste yet Patsy- thank you x
"I've tried scouring it Spath, it's like the tile has somehow taken the colour and I don't know what to do :/ "

Unfortunately it sounds like yer ***. It might be an idea to use an acid to eat away at the coloured marble leaving only fresh marble.
"Removing rust from marble is done by letting lemon juice sit on the stain for a few minutes before sprinkling it with baking soda. Scrub in the lemon and baking soda mixture using a toothbrush with a demonstration from a professional home cleaner in this free video on housekeeping"

Spath I think I'd sooner fess up to a stain than to a pitted possible holed marble tile......stains can be polished out, holes are more difficult.
Kval that vid, is your god right now ^
"confess"

Never, deny, deny, deny. ;)

I am in the deny, deny, deny camp tbh Spath because he'll lose his *** massively over this and even more so if I dissolve his marble floor. If I can hide it til Tuesday there's a marble specialist guy can come out, so I'll try everyone's suggestions on a tiny little bit and if it works continue and if not hope the marble guy can save me.
Thanks everyone x
Got any Tipp-Ex Kval?
