It's obviously against people's human rights to prevent them committing crime.
it took just one person to be injured, poor police they can't do right for doing wrong.
Unsurprised.
Can one be disciplined for following orders ?
It only says he 'could' be charged.
Bear in mind that this incident took place over a year ago - Nov last year. Was this before the Met authorised such actions? Was it Retrocop that predicted this?

Well, why am I not suprised?
What a gutless bunch of Lefties we have in charge of our security service, I despair for this Countries future, I really do.
These actions were authorised last year, seems they only really made the media a few weeks ago - they have had some good results on the amount of moped crime.

This was always going to happen though if someone got hurt.
Two(-ish) days in the reporting but 'tactical contact' has been authorised and employed as part of the Met's Operation Venice (to counteract moped-enabled crime) for more than a year now and although that first BBC report included that the IOPC is investigating three cases of tactical contact, the first of which dates back to Nov 2017, none of the cases is in regard of Operation Venice.

TROB need evicting from power.

Starting with Treason and her mob.
Getting tough will never happen. Nothing but hot air.
^ Regardless of government. I'll stop short of quoting Baldric in full. "What a gutless bunch", will suffice.
This is what I wrote earlier on Baldric's thread.

// Don't get me wrong.Any method that gets these mopeds robbers off the streets gets my vote. However the day comes when a moped rider parts company with the machine and mounts the pavement killing a pedestrian then the lawyers and public will have a field day .
Only two nights ago there were two cases cited on ITV News at 10 whereby relatives of innocent loved ones killed in a bandit chase were asking for police to be brought to book and charged.
This is not one off. I speak from experience as a former Class 1 Traffic
Officer who was trained in Bandit pursuit driving etc.
If, during the course of a police pursuit or answering an Emergency call a traffic collision occurred involving a innocent party then it was classified a 'Vicinity Only Polacc'. This involved the police driver suspended from driving duties pending an investigation.
I have great mistrust of Politicians and senior politicians trumpeting their new initiatives until the first complaint comes in then watch them back peddle and leave the 'specially trained officers' hanging out to dry.//

As a 'specially trained ' officer of 30years experience in the Met I know better than to believe politicians and politically correct motivated senior police officers. They will bring out these wonderful initiatives to cover themselves and mitigate their failures to the public who once trusted them.
As predicted they back pedal and hang out to dry the very officers on the front line who act in good faith and believe they have the backing of those who trumpet their new initiatives. Lions led by donkeys springs to mind. I could not work or operate as a dedicated and loyal police officer under this type of regime.
Yes bhg481 at 1647. I predicted this and have no pleasure in saying I was correct. :-(
I think actions and tactics by the police are totally acceptable
and to add should not be questioned in these circumstances
It is in some people's interest to lower the public's trust in the police, and to reduce the morale of the law-enforcers.

And for every one of those there will be ten "useful idiots" supporting them.
...as any "normal day on AB" proves.
"Here you are son. This is a new invention which will protect you and the public from wrongdoers with intent to kill or maim you with a lethal weapon"
"What does it do Guv?"
"It's called a Taser son and perfectly safe to use and you wont have to use a firearm with lethal consequences and face a Coroner's court and be suspended from duty whilst investigated for manslaughter or even worse, Murder"

A week later,
"Come in son and close the door. That nutter you tasered last night when he slashed, with a machete, the WPC you were patrolling with has died of heart failure in hospital. You are suspended from duty until proceedings are considered to prosecute you. Hand me your warrant card and then you are dismissed."
Question Author
Alas very true, Retro. I couldn't see that happening elsewhere (though no doubt somebody will produce an example). Thanks for the debate, chaps. BA to Retro for his thoughtful insight.
