New Eu Referendum Would Break Faith With Britons, May To Warn Mps
I first thought that Mrs May was living in Cloud Cuckooo Land but now I genuinely believe she takes the electorate for complete fools. By betraying the result of the referendum in attempting to cling to the EU by the skin of her teeth if necessary, regardless of the cost to the country, she's already broken faith with Britons. Who would trust her? Lies, lies, and more lies.

Naomi,We have a deal which is not ideal but it's a deal none the less.The problem she has is that it's 27 countries against 1 and if they give us a good deal then other wavering countries would also hold referenda in the hope of getting out.Theresa May knows that if there's a second referendum the majority of the 17 million leave voters probably will not vote then the remainers would come out in force thus overturning the result and we would then be left in.The conclusion to that would be a General Election which comrade Corbyn and Diane Abacus and Co would probably win and who the devil wants that.So lets support this deal and get on with making britain great again.

No, let's not. The deal leaves the UK in the EU in all but name, it splits the country down the Irish Sea and leaves Northern Ireland in the Customs Union and Single Market unless and until the EU says otherwise. Any Prime Minister signing off such a deal, or anything remotely like it, not only betrays the people who voted to leave but also betrays the entire country. It leaves the country in a position where traders would have to fulfill customs requirements to send goods from one part of a (so-called) sovereign nation to another. Can you imagine any country on Earth acquiescing to such an arrangement simply to secure a "deal"?

No, I am not advocating a second referendum. I could understand her saying ‘No’ to that - we've voted - but in giving the reason she’s given, she’s taking not only Leavers for fools, but the whole of the electorate. Having already broken faith with Britons by attempting to negotiate a deal that the majority didn’t vote for and don't want – and she knows it - to now attempt to portray herself as a character of impeccable ethics really is the height of hypocrisy. And worse still ... she really expects people to believe her! There's arrogance for you!

All you more fanatical among Brexit supporters should be cheering her on in her current predicament because if she continues to flounder like this we will leave the EU on March 29 which inexplicably seems to be what you want.
It was interesting to see Liam Fox admitting yesterday that the government may soon have to start proposing votes on courses of action - which his best “what the *** do we do now” face on.

Because Corbyn hasn't got anything credible or useful to say about it. His only interest in Brexit is to use the chaos to call for a general election. He's proposing that a Labour govt could go back and negotiate a better deal, which everyone knows is impossible, because the EU keep saying so.

Theresa May has perhaps gambled on the country preferring to "just get on with it" rather than either backing out or crashing out. In that respect she is probably not nearly so foolish as you think:

I posted about this poll yesterday (https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/ChatterBank/Question1636964.html -- in a correction to my posts then, it turns out that in this particular poll "Leave No Deal" was left off the options, and I apologise for that error): the main summary is that, in a battle between remaining and this deal, the country is split roughly 60:40 in favour of remaining (excluding don't know/won't vote), whereas the Tories are split roughly 3:1 in favour of the deal. Whether that is because Tory voters, or a large majority of them, are "fools", or are just keen to put Brexit behind us in one form or another and move on, I can't say -- and, of course, the situation may change again if "No Deal" is put back on the agenda as it wasn't in the poll above.
I wish I could understand what May was up to, though. At the moment she is serving neither Leavers' nor Remainers' interests, and instead seems to be relying on brinkmanship to force the issue.
