Please parse these for me. I do try !
1. Racket is wound up after leader absconds. Ans Noise (racket) . I can see "is" within but can't get any further. It was a down clue in case relevant to the up.
2. Argument lags started in jail, I'll be bound. Ans quodlibet (argument -not that I'd heard of it). No idea.
3. Control horse, check about direction and plough back. Ans Reinvest (plough back) Rein would be control without needing the word horse and check would also be rein . Can't get it.
4. One holds up canvas showing old woman outside house. Ans Main yard (as in ship). Old woman =maid but can't see the inyar.
5. Introduction takes short time, not indefinitely extended. Ans Pro tem (not indefinitely extended) but can't see first bit.
6. Lear's ancient relative? Not obviously. Ans Uncle Arly Lear wrote about him but why "Not obviously?"
