Whose Bright Idea Was It

...to move all my cookbooks and food/nutrition books from one side of the lounge to the other? Heavy...big...books?
Many of my books are in a large Ikea Kallax bookshelf...the shelves are double depth, and all my cookbooks were in the far corner and difficult to reach...nevermind I'd have to move the sofa to get to the ones in the back. So I got the bright idea the other day to switch them with a shelf on the opposite side...in another corner, but reachable. I was bored earlier, so...
I've about completed moving the books over...now to put them in their new location in some sort of relevant order. Haha. Some may go to a cupboard upstairs. Some will go to charity. There must be about 120.
This photo shows where they were...in the bottom, right-hand corner shelves. This is too much like weight lifting.

Next task is filling the now empty cubes with books I've read/rarely ever think of. Or, spreading out all the history books that are double deep. Decisions, decisions.
If I was super obsessive I'd make a list of what is in each cube.

I guess you could spread the books over the cubes into styles of cooking? Ie Italian, BBQ, etc, or by chef?? Ramsey, Stein……

I have a friend who has collected books (some quite valuable) over the past 50 years. She spent some time during lockdown cataloguing them. Not something I would be bothered with but then I have none of any value.

Smow...all the other cubes are full. Of more books of course. I've got most of them nicely arranged now on the other shelves. And in some sort of order for once.
Hopkirk...he was looking at my activity with great suspicion.

I bought 2 Billy bookcases for my books which were up in the loft at my old place. Still not enough though so I still need a wall mounted one with 4 cubes, I reckon. I think I have too many books!

Tigger, the Kallax is good because it's so deep...so holds double the usual number of books per shelf.

I have been having a tidy out this week. I have Freecycled a lot of stuff which has all been collected...no time wasters.
The difficulty is with my books. I sort them into two piles, 'keep' and 'get rid'.
Then I go through the 'get rid' pile again and put most of them back onto the 'keep pile'. Hopeless!
Still, it gives me a chance to dust them.

I was just looking at my charity pile...which was double the current size when I got all the 'wanted' books on the shelves. Then I made a 'not sure' pile...which is now hidden away. Until I look and wonder why I kept them.

I have actually done a good job of getting rid of cookery books. I now have two in my kitchen cabinet.
Completely Perfect by Felicity Cloake and Good Housekeeping Step-by Step Cook Book.

I don't need any more cook books.

I've got both of those...the GH is a well worn 1993 edition. The Felicity Cloake is on kindle. Every time I wanted a print edition, the price was sky high.
