Reality - possibly - Porsche in Chile are looking to seriously warp the current cost per litre downwards.....https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/2020/company/porsche-siemens-energy-pilot-project-chile-research-development-synthetic-fuels-efuels-23021.html - the basic chemistry/technology has been around for decades as in the Germans using it in WW2 and Sasol in South Africa.
From a Wikipedia article:-
At the end of 2019, Yandex made an announcement its self-driving cars passed 1 million miles in fully autonomous mode in Russia, Israel, and the United States. In February 2020, Yandex doubled its mileage with 2 million miles passed. In 2020, Yandex started to test its self-driving cars in Michigan.
As I’ve pointed out already – in the not too distance future, governments around the world will realise that humans cannot be allowed to have control of vehicles on public roads (they simply have too many accidents).
