are hairdressers deaf?

today i went to get my hair cut !!! i told her exactly how i wanted it off my face as i cant stand hair on my face except my fringe..so what did she do..blow dry it with the hair on my face arrogant cow!! so when i was putting my coat on i scraped it all back off my face and shoved it behind my ears..she reckoned i looked younger with it on my face..I DONT...she also gave me the hard sell treatments hair colour rinses..their own brand shampoo...hair putty you name it she tried to sell it..thats when i went deaf..I wont be going back as when i got home i had to get my heated rollers out and restyle it...do the other ladies on here have the same problems? if so tell us about them so we are warned in advance!! I am off to tony and guy next time they dont try the hard sell on you..this was a regis salon in wolverhampton so beware...!! lets name and shame the worst!!

I dont want to make you jealous but I LOVE my hairdresser. Everytime I go in she does it perfectly and exactly what I ask for. If any one is interested I go to Tommy Guns in shoreditch, London and get it cut by Julia.

i used to have a fab hairdresser once ..then one day i went and she was sick and the manageress had booked me with this man in their who hacked it to death and it cost me over �100 to get it right i had to keep going to tony and guy and getting it shaped this took me 5 months as it was such a mess..i never went back to my good hairdressers even though mr m keeps telling me to go back...so i am floundering around trying to find someone decent ..not having much luck..tony and guy were good but it was getting expensive as my stylist got promoted so it was �43 for a cut..but it looks like i will have to go back next time..as they are quite good..

If you are not happy don't pay, simple! You do not have to pay the asking price if you are not happy, you can legally pay what you think it's worth leave your name and address and there's nothing they can do.

umm I must be really nasty because I watch like a hawk what a new person is doing and stop them then and there if I don't like it. I have a super lady at the moment, she is young but a great cutter, knows what I want, makes suggestions but isn't upset when I decline.

I'm glad the Toni & Guy in your area is good. I used to visit their shop in Harrow on the Hill and it seemed to be staffed by children. They never listened to a word I said and seemed to be pre-programmed about styles. They were also desperate to sell their own products having already charged me a fortune for the cut.
I'd also like to know if it's really necessary to have my hair washed in the salon. I always think the blow drying enables them to hide a multitude of mistakes.

my favourite hairdresser was a wonderful lesbian who would get so caught up in her conversation she'd pause what she was doing to concentrate on what she was trying to say. It was the first time I'd ever been to a hairdresser where I found out more about her than she did about me! I didn't mind that my hair took hours to cut because it was by far the best cut I'd ever had!

The worst was this trendy japanese gay guy (i thought this would be the right combo for a great cut) who left me looking like a 1950s housewife. It cost a small fortune too! and I had to have my friend cut a style into the helmut afterwards!

drusilla...i think that also... the hairdresser i tried last month sent me home looking really nice ..when i washed it the back was a disaster..when they blow dry it they can hide disasters...its not badly cut today now i have restyled it well its passable..but when i came out it looked a mess especially after i scraped it back ..she made the back stick up with putty that didnt last half an hour as my hair is fine and needs something strong to hold it like gel spray..she wouldnt have it when i told her it needed spray she knew best!! well she thought she did..tony and guy in wolverhampton is busy to busy to give you the hard sell of hair products..my daughter goes to their salon in leicester and she said its okay their also...

Hi mullein - hairdressers?...nightmare!!!
Actually the one I have at the moment is ok at cutting, a bit cautious maybe but she's always willing to go over it if she hasn't taken enough off. It's just the hi-lights she's over ambitious with.....I'm borderline trollop at the moment but I've actually got used to it & lots say it suits me...what can they mean? I've not found one for years though that can blow-dry properly so I have it done at home & I dry & style it myself. Glad to see someone else still uses heated rollers - can't live without mine to give me a bit of bounce!

hi robina...you and me both!! i had highlights last month and i looked really old!! they came up to light as my hair is fair anyway so she bleached it to allmost white!! then my roots looked black!! so i redyed it ..she got the sack i wont go back so today i tried someone else..and i was not impressed..the cut is okay to a point !!! i shall wait till it grows then go to tony and guy as i cant find anyone else..allthough th edaughter tells me their is a man at leicester that is good so i could perhaps go their and visit the family at the same time.. p.s....have you heard from smudge?? i havnt seen her posts anywhere..

god i'm a hairdresser, and had no idea we were thought of so badly.. firstly loosehead,, don't fancy you in our salon much,, secondly,, Druisilla,, it isn't necessary to have your hair washed, but it must be clean (it's horrid to go through someones manky old hair) and can be rinsed through, just cos it takes ages to spray down evenly,, it must be all completely wet as wet hair stretches more than dry so you would get an uneven cut otherwise... don't get it dried if you don't want,, this is just for us to check how the hair sits once dry . some cuts can be washed , dried then cut depends on how funky you want.............. quite supprised by the tony and guy thing,,,,,, always thought they were an overpriced, franchise full of self important stylists ,, my mistake.!

Peter Mark - worst ever!

I went to get a brown colour on to match my roots as my highlights grew out, and ended up with dark red hair that was almost purple, with a big blonde streak where the girl missed a bit! When i touched my hair my hand turned red as they hadnt rinsed the colour out either!

I went back and complained and the manager said "sorry about that but you cant have any money back"!!

I am probably the only woman who hates going to the hairdressers and I only go to one to have my hair dry trimmed in the same style it's in. It's very thick and quite wavy and needs thinning out on top and at the back. Since I was a child my hair has never grown any longer than almost my shoulder, so after many years of having it short in the length, I now like it with some length. This has not caused a problem with various hairdressers I have been to, having lived in different places. I tend to go for a plain, old fashioned type places, but since moving to near Great Yarmouth, I decided to try a kind of barber shop in the Victorian Arcade. You don't need to make an appointment and women can go also, but as I'm very short sighted and remove my glasses, find it difficult to see what they are doing.I asked for the same thing today "keeping all the length at tha back" and it was only near the end, she said something like, it's too long at the back for your style"!! And when I put my glasses on, the cow had cut it SHORT at the back! I'm not that interested in hair and having things done to it, but I like mine the way it is and can't believe these people can be so arrogant and not listen to their customers? I felt naked and exposed afterwards. And while I'm on the subject, why do they insist on trimming the ends beacuse" it helps the split ends"-I don't care and don't want it trimmed in the length as they never stick to it.
