There were about 20 volunteer wardens on duty today, Wolf63, making sure that everyone at the beach kept to the approved paths along the top of the dunes, so that the seals weren't disturbed.
They'd closed some of the usual walking areas off though because some family groups of seals had come further inland than usual. The bull seals can be very aggressive, so much so that the normal weekly counts of seals and pups have been abandoned for now in the interests of the wardens' safety. (At the last count though, a few weeks ago, there were about 4000 seals, including pups, on the beach).
