39 A is the thematic one where the length isn't the same. The answer to the clue - Prudent, 7 letters, from a vehicle filled with passengers, with the usual 'Spain' inside. Then you change this, getting the rhyme from the song.

Thanks, saladdodger. There's a forename and a surname for the songwriter. I think your other two clues are thematic too -24 works for me, 11 A seems a little iffy (but pronunciation things are often tricky!)

11 Four letter 'miserable place' with 'left' and 'right' inside, giving an American word for cry, shout.
24 . The definition is 'in great quantity'.
