To operate this company, as CEO I’m going to pay myself a minimum salary of £500k (plus bonuses), I’ll employ an army of sales staff in plush offices, with state of the art IT to take your money.
The company will also air slick TV advertisements - paying celebrities such as Carol Vorderman to extol the virtues of taking out a policy with my company. These will be accompanied by mail-shots to selected Saga members and others, plus regular magazine adverts.
One question you have to ask yourself before taking out a policy with my company – after you have paid for my salary, staff, office running costs, TV advertisements, mail shots etc – how much of the money you paid in, do you think will be left to pay to your relatives when you die?
And don’t forget, if for any reason you stop paying into the policy, you will get nothing.
Those tv adverts tick me right off and I have no respect for the slebs that front them, especially those trusted by the older generation such as Parky and Vorderman.
Also the tv ads for direct to crem funerals. If you have no assets, or your deceased loved one has no assets, let the council provide the same service for free if that is the sort of disposal you want.
I asked before about pre-paid funeral companies going bust and it seems the gov also had concerns having now introduced new legislation to protect folks' cash. I think at least one such co has stopped trading cos it couldn't meet the new conditions.
