Hybrid Dr's Surgery

Had cause to be at the Dr's today and they have a lovely poster up explaining at how successful the hybrid way of working is
April - June 19 Saw 4897 patients and 758 phone consultations
April - June 21 Saw 7432 patients and 1029 phone consultations

But - I cannot help but think that they would be in a better position if their time keeping was better - my appointment for was for 1015 I was seen at 1035.

What are you thoughts?

Never heard of hybrid method.

Being on time is not unusual at the start of the day, but as the day goes on a Dr may be interupted so many times that he soon gets late. It is the norm in medicine.

That's interesting. They saw 2535 more in person consults during Covid than they did pre Covid. I can understand more phone consults, but in person. Very good, as long as they're not telling porkies, or completely manipulating figures.

With regards to going in late, 20 minutes over run wouldn't be too bad in our surgery, although that's going on pre Covid experience, I haven't had an in person consult for ages. My husband and daughter both have and they both went in on time.

Hybrid is the practice of more phone consultations that may lead to the patient seeing the nurse/dr.
I agree but being 20 mins late in the morning is poor imo

I never complain about being seen late at the doctors. More than once I have been for a routine appointment and the doctor has spent far longer with me than my allotted time, once phoning round hospitals to find me a bed.

I know Rocky - I wonder if the fact that they have to phone and have a phone consultation with either a nurse or dr before getting a face to face means they are cutting down on the 'timewasters'

april-june 21 is the very "end" of covid restrictions rocky - i see they missed out the very important april-june 2020!
I find it inconvenient when they see me on time, as i usually try to leave extra time for them to be late and then all of a sudden my day is thrown out!

* What does "saw" mean? In real life, or online video, or both?
* Same number of doctors and nurses in each time period?
* Could they have seen more in 2019 or were there just not as many sick people? (And if there were as many sick people, and they weren't seen, what happened to them???)
* What about now? That was more than a year ago.

Is the service actually better for you now, in 2022, than it was in 2019? That's all that matters.
