(just had to look it up)
18d on the long finger
Yes, 18 D is still On The Long Finger...
Question Author
On the long finger, I've not heard that expression,
can someone explain, Please

Thanking you
Poorclare, it seems to be an expression said/used mainly in Ireland. It means to postpone or delay indefinitely.
//put (something) on the long finger
To delay or postpone something indefinitely or for a long time; to procrastinate. Primarily heard in Ireland. I've been meaning to send in my college applications, but I keep putting it on the long finger.//
Hi Clare, growing up, if we were told it's on the long finger, it meant it was delayed ..like a day out, a holiday ( staycation as they're called now) always on the long finger - sometimes never happened
