Good morning, this week’s Spectator has been a smooth, mild solve in record time for me again! Thanks to La Jerezana for a stressless offering! NACW was quite perceptive in stating that this one was “Matakari friendly”! And now, back to Charybdis’ Anthology with much more zest and which I’m not yet ready to abandon!

Thanks, NACW, I got the hints except for 10 which is still quite slippery. Those first two letters are puzzling! But I'm going on now to the remaining Across clues.

Morning NAC. Yes I did. Wasn't a toughie by far (didn't take too long to complete) But thought it was well constructed and everything parsed 100% which is a big think for me.
I only had one error on completion at 35a (but the preamble sorted that out instantly).
I enjoyed it but would have liked more of a challenge.

Oops, No I didn't. I've cut down on the crosswords a little and my time on here as I was getting nothing done.

Thanks, Klazo. I know you are often a busy, industrious soul. The EV puzzle was far better and more satisfying than the rather tame (in my view) Spectator one.

PS I believe it's a numbers Listener this week, so I won't even look at it tomorrow!

I’m experiencing some difficulty making sense of several of the Across letters I now have. For me, the preamble is somewhat labyrinthine, but I would like to see how far I can get for my own edification. A confirmation of some of the Down answers would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance!
