Ebay Click And Collect
7 Answers
I often prefer this as I can collect larger items when I do other shopping in the town centre.
For this reason it's often a deciding factor in who I buy from.
Yesterday I won an auction and when I went to pay, the click and collect option was missing. Before contacting the seller to query this, I checked their listings...95% were click and collect.
My enquiry got the response "I don't do click and collect "
I pointed out that most of their listings included it.."It shouldn't have done"
Their listings today remain the same. Can a seller change this at will? Does it cost them more to provide click and collect?
Is this seller telling fibs?

eBay automatically adds click and collect to listings that fit their criteria - quick delivery time, fits the weight and size etc and the seller has to remove it from the listing or update their seller preferences if they don't want to use that option.
It doesn't cost any more

eBay automatically includes Click & Collect on an item's listing unless
(a) the item isn't suitable for the service ; or
(b) the seller has gone into the Site Preferences section of their account to opt out of the service.
I suspect that many sellers aren't aware of that though, meaning that they'll be surprised when a buyer wants to make use of the service.

I also suspect that many sellers are unaware that it won't cost them anything extra
to offer the service. Neither will it involve them in any extra work, as eBay automatically puts the store address (instead of the buyer's one) on the address label that they'll print out.
