Nepotism And Old School Ties.
Years ago Labour PM, Jim Callaghan, appointed his son-in-law as ambassador to Washington.
And after George Osborne left politics he was made editor of the Evening Standard.
Were they qualified for those jobs or was it they had the right connections?
Answers
My son has graduated with a masters, first , with honours and walked into a well paid job,. Yes he was head hunted by someone from the same private school as him, but he went through the process of interview etc and would not have got the job if he wasn't the best candidate. Old school ties give opportunities not jobs.
