Once more belated thanks for the link, Cruciverbalist.

Are they all drunk at the Times or what? How can they load the page and not check it's OK - before returning to the Friday session at the pub??? First no grid and then a minuscule thing as if some office junior was assigned to rectify the situation.

Having said all that I've manged to finish it without too much trouble - in several shakes of...

Mmm, have pretty much finished the grid, got the theme and all the letters for the highlighting instructions, but the last step eludes me (as so often it does).

Is the outer top row supposed to spell something out? Mine doesn't appear to!

Not sure what the two words which appear at the top row have to do with anything, but they clearly must!

Thanks chaps, most welcome as usual. Obviously The Times just wanted to get our goat by omitting the grid, or else they were just kidding us on. Still, no point bleating on about it now, we all know they're completely baarmy.

Either I'm getting smarter or Schadenfreude's puzzles are getting easier. Suspect the latter... :( Still not convinced of the rationale for the top line. Pretty clear what the word is but not quite sure how it fits into the theme. But who cares - five days free of Listener cogitation is a rare gift after some tough puzzles recently.
Out of curiosity did anyone else pursue a line of enquiry with cricket/Bradman/who bowled him for 0 etc with last week's puzzle? I found out all sorts of fascinating test match history before realising that I was on a complete goose chase

Enjoyable and surprisingly easy for Schadenfreude. I'm surprised the theme was given away so easily in the bottom line. Still mustn't complain after some of the recent brainteasers.

Think I can almost agree, having been defeated by a couple of recent Schadenfreudes ... however, I seem to be in the same boat as Gazco - solved all the clues quickly, but what on earth needs to be highlighted? Do columns have the indicated body parts? Just can't figure which bits should stand out ... ah well, back to it! Get the rhyme, get the main players - but gentle hints appreciated. Cheers all
