Does anyone know the name of a mini-bus type vehicle that can carry 7/8 people and all their belongings for a weeks holiday in a chalet in Scotland

A mini-bus licence is class D1 which i have. All the vehicles you mention are ok for seating but we need one that will carry us all, children under 10 who require child seats which we have as well and our luggage we don't want to take 2 cars, there is not much luggage space in any of the above. There is one which looks like a mini-bus it's got the seating and it also has loads of room for cases etc. but i don't know what it's called, or the manufacturer.

Thanks for all your answers so far
Ford Transit
..or Sixt rent out an LDV Convoy
A land rover with a roof rack on it, perhaps. Think that is what I would use. You did not say if you could afford to buy fuel for it in this times of sky high prices.
A 7 seater can be hired form anywhere, but an 8 seater will be diff

You'll perhaps need even bigger because of the luggage?
I;d go for mini bus if you have the right licence
Err a coach?
hijack an ambulance, school bus or a police bus.
but, you better of with the police bus because it has more speed.
You may have the licence, but driving a 15 seater minibus without experience may be unwise.

It is easy for a novice to scrape the sides.

After you have paid for the hire and insurance excess for repairs, you may feel it would have been cheaper to buy two roofracks or top boxes and take the cars.
single decker bendy bus?
reduce your carbon footprint and go green by letting everyone cycle there! remember the further it is the more healthier you'll get!

Thank you Panic Button i think 46 years driving gives me the experience, but hey thanks but taking 2 cars will be double the fuel as well thanks to all who answered me i will just have to keep looking.

abstract you nutter, would you cycle to the far north of Scotland with cases, bedding and shopping plus a 18 month old baby in tow, and don't say you can hire bedding and buy the shopping when we get there we are doing it a bit at a time to cut down on expense when we get there
Try looking for a Toyota Previa, 8 seats plus some baggage room.

The maths may not be that simple.

Two cars do not use twice the fuel of one minibus.

Add in a weeks hire that you don't have to pay for the cars, and the cars may be cheaper overall.
