What strange people we are, all sat about on a Sunday morning trying to win �1000 or so in the various competions yet happily giving the answers away to any of our rivals who ask

I doubt if the few dozen people that are given answers here really affect the overall competition entry too much - surely there are thousands?

As lie-in-king says a few people on here entering are a drop in the ocean of all the many entrants. I have never ever won a crossword despite entering plenty. Quite enjoy helping people to complete their entries, and very grateful for the replies that spring up whenever I have asked for advice anywhere on this site.

Well, yes.....I am strange too...

I enjoy reading the answers, even when , not having the relevant newspapers, som do not make much sense to me.....However, English is not my mother tongue and I learn many words and locutions that way....
last being Bell The Cat......and I duly thumbed my dictionary...

I always enjoy Lie-in-King's replies....he must have been a good teacher in some other life....
