EV 860 Hellish Rate

Hello EV N&Cing Wine Clubbers,
That was somewhat more challenging. A few words I'd never heard of didn't help! After I'd spotted a possibility in the perimeter it all fell into place.
Pleased to see that the SS had been put upside down, perhaps a mirror image would be better.

Don't worry, however big and black the dog on my shoulder (to paraphrase Winnie), shredding a stupid Xword is as far as I would go, however tempting the wrist slitting I am always aware that someother poor s** would have to clear up the mess (in more ways than one) and that just ain't fair.
It wasn't me that got the Speccie this week, I told a friend how to do it as she enjoys it too! You didn't really think you would find me if I really wanted to go missing did you?
Now to other matters...................I AM VERY ANGRY......PUT THAT FURNITURE BACK! Just because you boys are so clever (and superior about it) that you don't have a use for a dunces corner doesn't mean the rest of us don't. I am surprised at you Physicsgirl and Christina, allowing them to walk roughshod over you..............It is pure jealousy on your part that we have such a good time in there, and what is more, we are going to continue whether you like it or not...........the very idea!
No doubt too late for copelander but a must for a trip to London is a lunch or early evening drink at Henry's on Piccadilly (very convenient for the RA and picking up some Gentlemen's Relish at F&M) although the food is sometimes fantastic and at other's less so, sitting in the window people watching is an excellent way to spend an hour relaxing. There is another superbly placed London hostelry on Cambridge Circus expressly built for that purpose. If you want to buy any of about 40 different wines by the glass, a fantastic Victorian pub called The Union, just opposite Mt Pleasant sorting office & Kings Cross Holiday Inn.
Sorry drb, have never crossed the pond, always go SE in our travels, well, until this coming October.
Regards

Hi Devadolly!
Glad you are back with us. Toasting your return with a nice French Merlot. There's no way I could feel "superior" given that my elder brother is far more intelligent than I could ever hope to be. You never know, I may have to join you and Physicsgirl in the hammocks on Sunday. As I've posted before, it's more often than not serendipity that I stumble upon the EV theme.

Great to see you back Devadolly. I regret however all the comfortable dunces corner furniture has been placed in a secure storage unit on the outskirts of Birmingham, to be retrieved, item by item on presentation of a completed EV. As for hammocks, I regret to inform you that the bailiffs have confiscated them as a result of threats of mutilation of incomplete EV grids or suicide!! This is on the basis of Elf and Safety. See you sunday.
Physicsgirl and other sometime dunces, forget the Birmingham storage unit - I have got access to the MP's expense accounts and have completely re-fitted a dunces corner complete with a south-facing terrace al;ready fitted with secure hammocks and a specially constructed paddling pool for minipg. I have declared it my second residence for the summer months so we should have a reasonable sum to spend on various liquids etc. Non-dunces (ie. Clever-clogsis) can be admitted by arrangement but bullying will not get entry.
