I was geting on so well with this crossword and then caem up against a brick wall on the last 2. Cany anyone help pleaswe?
25a: Breaking of trust by three small boys. (8) I have ?e?r?y?l and assume it's betrayal, but why the bet?? I cannot find anywhere any reference to bet being used as a small boy's name?!
27a: Raise pot, shake! Termites may emerge (8). I have ?s?p?e?a An anagram of raise pot I guess, but I cannot find any word with those letters which has anything to do with termites.
Any help, enlightenment gratefully received. Thanks..

Thanks junkman - I didn't have that word in any of my reference dictionaries or crossword key reference books!
Thanks a.trembath - still don't understand the "bet" part of the answer but I'm sure you must be right. Thanks to both.

The word may not be in your dictionary but the answer could have been found by simply typing part of the clue into the AB search box as these have beena nswered previously.

The BETRAYAL one has been on here a few times, with some questioning why BET is regarded as a name for a small boy

Thanks for that factor30. I always search before I post a question, but I never thought of searching for part of a clue before. I have always just searched on the crossword itself, ie. ST 4390. Thanks for the tip. I don't want to duplicate stuff.
