To save RR the bother, I will start the thread this week.
I haven't finished yet, but with a full and fairly easy grid fill, that just leaves the usual preamble and whatever potential disaster is lurking.

Still need to sort out the four words, which I think are likely to be as obvious as last week'd dénouement, and it took me ages to see that too. The 32 cells are plain enough, though.
Yes, this was an easy one. I had a full grid (except for two to check in Chambers) and the theme clear by the time I got to Reading (for our friends abroad, that's about half an hour on the train). I was left feeling, well, cheated is putting it too strongly, but you know what I mean. Probably just as well, though, as I've got to dream up at least three more projects for students this weekend.
