What a fun puzzle. The final step of turning the interim product into the final product made me laugh. Lots of thematic material and some well concealed misprints - bravo and huzzah!

Devadolly,
A famous Oil Company had problems last year in the Gulf of Mexico. If you were to write their initials in accordance with 1a, that might help with 19a, for the interim and the final product! There is a pad on your keyboard that will prevent you doing this, on my laptop it is just above the left "shift" key! As for 7d, it comes in many forms, but I prefer it on the final product as granulated, but not in my coffee!

Sorry Devadolly, I think I may have thrown you off track when I was trying to help Haggis with 7dn.

Earlier this evening I had 2 portions of the FP both with 7dn & 27dn. No problems with preparation of IP or thematic movement, as Mrs. Turast stepped in. She later also texted No. 1 daughter in Norway with instructions for prep of IP. Definitely use lard not butter or oil to get from IP to FP apparently.

Dr. B in light of your info about US term, for Tippex, when I looked at my Tippex, it was called Sno-pake. Spooky!

My entry in accordance with 1ac looks ghastly, but I'll send it off anyway. Definitely the most entertaining EV I've tackled and the most amusing thread on Answerbank.

Hewllo Everybody. Thank you for the advice and greatly appreciated heavy hints. I'm glad 7d is what I had assumed it to be (I too am a 7d & 27d afficianado). Have also managed to do the anagram (so obvious when the brain changes tack), hoever, can still not comprehend what on earth typo instructions have to do with said product(s)! Knew 19a had to be the interim but there it all stopped. I presume I have to insert both doctored letters at the 19a/d square, but do all the letters in both words have to be 'demoted' ?

DD, I went for demoting 19a and performing thematic movement on it all, but not totally confident that this was right.

Hi DD I did the same as Andrew, after some hesitation - the blessed thematic movement took almost as long as the puzzle, with much rubbing out. I'm very 'cack handed' with such things, as I am with the actual product. Had the last of it tonight and found it perfectly acceptable without any thematic movement.

Only one letter required in each cell devadolly, but 3 of them (2,5 and 6) should not be recognisable as letters without the thematic movement, which involves turning the paper over from top to bottom, rather than the usual way.
