What silly or daft thing would you never throw out and why ?
Ive been clearing out and just found and old photo of my moms in an old envelope addressed to her at her old address in 1945. Its got a 2d stamp on it. My mom doesnt even remember who took the photo. She was about 21 and looks like a film star. I even want to keep the envelope. Is that silly ?
My late husband's dressing gown, it gives me comfort each morning as I see it when I wake. Lots of other family related bits and bobs too, we all do it.
Anything your kids made / drew etc, cards they wrote for you, it gets to a point where you have to get rid of some but I have boxes of random bits of clay, material and wood that are supposed to be things which i could never part with.
I have a few things of my late nan's aswell.
So many thinks that I can't possibly limit it to one item.
I suppose the daftest item is a sheepskin rabbit that was given to me at birth. It is now bald has had it's ears stitched back on numerous times and it eyes have been replaced with buttons on several occasions. My present dog ate its face when she was a puppy, so I made him (cos it's a boy bunny) a new smiley face with an old sock of my husbands. He wears a pink dress that I knitted when I was five or six at primary school. He is one confused individual.
Headwreck he went everywhere with me right up until the time I got married. He has been on lots of adventures!! He is now to fragile to travel so he sits with his mates in a wicker basket in our bedroom. I bought him a similar girlfriend off ebay about 5 yers ago to keep him company!! Oh dear, I am just such a silly fool!!
I've still got my knitted rabbit too Lofty! he is about 58 years old and wears orange trousers with braces. Probably the daftest thing I've kept is my children's first baby tooth.
