Some thoughts on the wedding...
Firstly, something I noticed from the BBC's (excellent) coverage - I noticed that amongst the flag-waving crowds, there were quite a lot of black and Asian faces, all enthusiastically getting into the excitement of the day.
How on Eafrth can this be possible? According to the usual bigots - they don't want to integrate into the 'British way of life'?
Secondly, I think we can safely say that Middleton, wearing McQueen was by far and away the best looking royal bride ever...
...at least in my book.

...and I think this the answer. Britain's trump card is pagentry. The whole day looked awesome, and that's our trump card. Get a bit of historical pomp and circumstance into the Olympic park next year, and it'll be great.
And seriously - Catherine looked amazing. Like a 50s film star.

The Union flag was there in abundance showing that its patriotic to wave it without being classed as BNP. The only black faces I saw were those in the invited audience at the church.
When Cameron says we're all in it together the degree of patriotism today shows how Britain once was and what we need to do to make it great again.

Why would there not be a lot of black and Asian faces in the crowd? I can`t see the relevance of the colour of somebody`s skin in whether they enjoy a royal wedding or not.
secondly, yes I agree about the Middletons. They all looked elegant and it`s ironic that a girl from an ordinary background should have more dignity and style than a lot of royal brides.

We definitely displayed what Britain does best - ceremony. I thought Kate looked lovely, everyone looked so happy - aren't the Middletons a good looking family?! and I loved all the fantastic photography from the BBC - the cameras up at the top of Westminster were very effective. The only tiny complaint I have is although Huw Edwards did a very good job, as someone else had already said on this thread - it really should have been a Dimbleby commentating, as they have done so many times before. And a real mix of people in the crowd, no bar on age, colour, religion etc. A thoroughly good day so far..................with more to come, I hope. I stayed mostly on BBC1, but did flip channels a few times and thought that Philip Schofield was doing well. And what a beautiful dress! So simple and elegant.
