4 and 10 refer to the answers of 4d and 10d.

Don't know about the 4 but HARLOTS + IO anagrams to Lotharios. But since when did 10 equal IO? Not a great clue.

Fully agree with Qizmonkey, not a great clue. Possibly a reference to the answer to clue 4 which is "ladies" . The new crossword setter has shown themselves to be a bit vague at times.

Thanks for all the suggestions, must go as my physio is due any minute.
