so you have a guest who for religious (or any other) reasons can't eat certain food, do you cater for them or ignore them, as the batty woman on come dine seemed to suggest?

having the odd one or two food issues myself i find eating out at other people's houses a tad tricky as i don;t like to say 'yes i'd love to come to dinner but....'

however if i was the one giving the party i would make every effort to find out if their are foods that people don;t like can;t eat so i could plan around them. ob on come dine its not that easy as they plan their menu's before they meet the people but, whatever her name was seemed to suggest that the jewish lady shouldn't go out anywhere and expect to be catered for and that the other one was making it up

a tuna sandwich and a bottle of plonk should suffice for religious nutters
I don't know their names. The Jewish lady is the politician? And the old witch called her a fussy eater or something?
well but that program is just plain weird and wants problems/clashes etcet. In real life I would check with who I invited as to what they can't/wont eat and if I couldn't do that, I would have an alternative up my sleeve.

i can;t remember exactly what she said but it was along the lines of being a fussy eater - For Funks Sake i'm a fussy eater, she isn;t lol

although i wouldn't go as far as to cover my face if someone else is eating oysters - that was bizarre
I can't wait for 'come dine with me Ireland'...it has to be shown after the watershed :-)
lol I would be a nightmare, Im allergic to fish and I have IBS so I cannot eat gassy/greasy foods. I will admit my fish allergy is such that I hold my breath walking past the fish counter

the irish one sounds amazing, when are we going to get it, do you know?

i remember going to my flatmate's mum's for dinner, H had told her i can;t eat cooked tom's or mushrooms so she made me my own individual lasagna and used tom ketchup instead, i have never eaten anything so sweet in my life. i was very good, ate it all up!

I think if you invite someone knowing that they have certain eating restrictions be it for religious or vegatarian reasons then that's fair enough. I think on a program like this then you obviously have to make the effort as it is what it's all about. Knowing that someone dislikes a certain thing then it would be common courtesy not to serve it (especially if you want them to enjoy themselves), no one would thing to give me boiled pig with mashed tatties for example as I'll just walk out.

But the rule growing up in my family is 'you get what you're given' and if someone is just being finickity then they can starve or eat toast. I can't be bothered with nonsense... I have a strong suspician that Fluffy would have starved in my house hold ;0)
I think to a degree the producers aim to put certain people together ie) a fussy person with a person who hates fussy eaters, purely because it makes good tv.
