For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.smouse, I agree with you to a certain extent. Several ways of looking at it. Do you really think it puts people off buying the quiz? Some people might be quite happy to see some of the answers! Some might say at least those who ask for help have contributed money to the cause. Personally I think that some don't take time to figure out answers for themselves, esp when the closing date is weeks, sometimes months away. I like quizzes and am happy to help.
quinie, I know you addressed this to smouse, but perhaps I may answer?
Many small quizzes are now asking that we don't ask on here until near the closing date. Wisdom is saying that early answers DO affect quiz sales. (after all, who wants to do a quiz that is asked and answered).
Some people use this site to ask EVERY question in a quiz, THAT'S when it gets silly.

Point taken. It's up to the person buying the quiz to do as requested and not ask questions too early. I don't answer if I KNOW such a request has been made, but how are the ABers to know that, esp when it's called a local quiz? I know that smouse feels strongly on the subject but can't see what can be done about it.
Two things got me with this one
one calling it local
and the other saying I will post some more soon as if they were doing those who answer a favour but letting them solve them for them
Trouble is some of us remember how AB used to be when you tried as hard as you could then just before closing date you asked one or two
not as many as they ask now and not a few and then a few more in the hopes that no one realises how little they have done for themselves
There is one prize of £10 and consolation prizes that are not money so why cant they having bought it just send it in with some blanks they cant be doing for the winnings so why cant they wait and get the answers back and see the ones they couldnt do for themselves or at least ask for extra clues
